Repair & Service

Transmission Service

Slipping, hard shifts, or a fluid leak under the car. Transmission work is expensive to get wrong, so we diagnose thoroughly before we recommend a thing. You get a written quote first, then we fix it right.

The work, in depth

What you’re actually paying for.

A transmission problem can be a lot of things. Low or burnt fluid, a worn clutch pack, a failing solenoid, or a full rebuild. The price gap between those is huge, so guessing is the one thing you can't afford here. We don't sell you a rebuild when a service would have done it.

We diagnose first, every time. We confirm the actual cause, then put a written, fixed-price quote in your hands before any work starts. You decide what gets done. Whether it's automatic or manual, we service and repair both, with parts and fluid to factory spec.

Know the signs

Bring it in if you notice…

01

Slipping

The engine revs but the car doesn't pull like it should, or it feels like it's losing its grip mid-drive.

02

Hard or delayed shifts

A clunk into gear, or a pause before it engages when you shift or pull away.

03

Grinding or shudder

A shake or grind during a shift, or a clutch that grabs and chatters on a manual.

04

Whining or humming noise

A whine, hum, or buzz that changes with speed or gear, often a fluid or bearing warning.

05

Burnt smell or red fluid

A burnt odor after driving, or red fluid spots on the driveway. Both mean get it looked at.

06

Won't go into gear

It won't shift into drive or reverse, or the check-engine light is on with a shifting problem.

How it works

Three steps, no surprises.

01

Book a diagnostic

Reserve a time online or by phone. We hold a bay so you're not waiting on the lot.

02

We diagnose & quote

Check the fluid, scan for codes, and road test to confirm the real cause. Then a written, fixed-price quote.

03

Approve & we service it

Green-light the work and we service or repair it to factory spec. The diagnostic fee comes off the bill.

Straight pricing

No mystery on the invoice.

Transmission repair covers a wide range, from a fluid service to a full overhaul, so we don't quote blind. The diagnostic fee covers the time it takes to find the real cause for certain. Approve the repair and that fee comes straight off your bill.

Both servicedAuto & manual

What affects the price

  • Whether it's a service, a specific component, or a full overhaul
  • Automatic or manual, and the parts and fluid your transmission calls for
  • Whether the fault is constant or intermittent and shows up on a road test

Common questions

Good to know.

Still not sure? Give us a call at (508) 730-2282 and we’ll talk it through.

Depends entirely on what's actually wrong, which is why we diagnose first. Some problems are solved by a proper fluid service. Others are internal wear that a service won't touch. We confirm the cause and quote the smallest fix that actually solves it, not the biggest.

On a healthy transmission that's due, fresh fluid to factory spec is good maintenance. On a high-mileage unit that's already slipping or neglected, an aggressive flush can do more harm than good. We check the condition first and tell you straight which camp yours is in.

Yes. We service and repair both automatic and manual transmissions, including clutch-related work, on domestic, European, and Asian makes.

Sometimes, yes. Low or burnt fluid is one of the first things we check, and if that's the whole story you'll know it fast. But slipping can also mean internal wear, so we verify the cause before telling you it's nothing or quoting a repair.

We start with a diagnostic to pinpoint the problem, then schedule any repairs once you've approved a written quote.
